I write and edit essays & books about art, culture, ephemera, and the history of science and technology.
Currently, I work as the managing editor of The Public Domain Review and Cabinet magazine in Berlin.
I am also the founding editor of a new print magazine out of Hydra, Greece, called GLOTTA.
Before that, I was University Lecturer of English Literature at Tampere University, Finland, and a Junior Research Fellow at Peterhouse, Cambridge.
In 2025–2026, I was the inaugural resident of the Hydra Book Club + Library Residency.
I also work as a freelance project manager/developmental editor for artist catalogues, commercial periodicals, and trade nonfiction. If you’d like help with your project, please get in touch.
For magazines & newspapers, I’ve written longform reviews & reported features about nightingale conservation, Amazon poetry, the history of emojis, Arab Postal Union stamps, environmental activists who want to rename Homo sapiens, the erotic history of rocking chairs, and other topics and things.
My first book is about why we sign our names.
I am available to discuss new writing projects & collaborations.
